The App Roundup is a small independent site, run from London, that summarises what mobile and desktop apps do and what they actually cost.

It started for a boring reason: pricing is deliberately hard to find. App store listings say “in-app purchases” and leave it there. Marketing pages lead with the annual price divided by twelve. The features you assumed were included turn out to sit behind a tier you did not notice.

What we do

Each entry here is compiled from the developer's own website, their app store listing and their published pricing pages. Where those disagree with independent reporting, we check both and say what we found.

Every page carries the date it was last checked, because pricing moves and a figure from eight months ago is often simply wrong.

What we do not do

These are summaries, not reviews. We do not claim to have personally used every app here for a month, because we have not, and a site that pretended otherwise would not be worth reading.

So there are no star ratings and no verdicts. What you get instead is what the app does, what the free tier really covers, what happens when it runs out, and what tends to come up as a recurring complaint. You decide whether that suits you.

Where prices conflict

This happens more than you would expect, particularly with apps that test different prices in different regions or on different accounts. When sources disagree we say so and give the range, rather than picking a number and presenting it as fact.

How this is funded

Some links on this site earn a commission when someone signs up for an app. That does not decide which apps get covered or what the entry says — plenty of what is listed here has no affiliate programme at all. The detail is on the affiliate disclosure page.

If a price is wrong or a feature has moved tiers, we would rather know. The address is on the contact page and corrections get made quickly.
